- Patients should be informed of their right to have a chaperone present.
Staff Responsibilities
- Clinicians should offer a chaperone for any examination or procedure that involves intimate areas.
- If a chaperone is declined, this should be documented in the patient's medical record.
Chaperone Training
- All staff acting as chaperones must receive appropriate training to understand their role and responsibilities.

Documentation
